ur
Services
Our practice
is devoted solely to the care of females from the aspect of obstetrics,
reproductive endocrinology, infertility, office and operative gynecology.
For problems outside our specialty we will work closely with your family
physician, internist, psychiatrist, etc. If your medical problems fall
into one of these fields and you do not have a physician, we will assist
you in finding an appropriate specialist or general family doctor.
Obstetrical Care:
Our
services include complete obstetrical care including prenatal care, delivery
and postpartum care. A family physician or pediatrician of your choice
will be notified to care for your newly delivered infant. During your
hospitalization, one of our patient relations nurses will visit and discuss
in detail, the information you need to care for yourself postpartally.
We strive to treat each patient as a unique individual and tailor instructions
to your needs.
Gynecologic
Care: Approximately one-half of our practice is devoted to
the gynecologic care of females. This care is limited to problems of the
pelvic organs, breasts, hormones, and endocrine glands. We are all diplomats
of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and perform our own
gynecologic surgery. Two of our physicians are always present at all major
surgeries. We provide a wide range of preventive care, as well as medical
and surgical management of infertility, endometriosis and a wide range
of major gynecologic surgical services.
Patient
Education:
We are very proud of the unique service provided by our clinic through
our Patient Relations Nurses. These nurses arrange appointments with surgical
patients preoperatively, in which the patients are informed with a step-by-step
approach of what to expect before, during and after their surgeries. We
are one of the few practices that offer this extended time for communication,
especially preoperatively, with our patients.
Women's
Clinic Laboratory:
The Women's Clinic laboratory has met all criteria for Laboratory Accreditation
by COLA, a national health care accreditation organization. Accreditation
is given only to laboratories that apply rigid standards of quality in
day-to-day operations, demonstrate continued accuracy in the performance
of proficiency testing, and pass a rigorous on-site laboratory survey.
The Women's Clinic laboratory has earned COLA accreditation as a result
of a long-term commitment to provide quality service to their patients.
COLA is a
nonprofit, physician-directed organization promoting quality and excellence
in medicine and patient care through programs of voluntary education,
achievement, and accreditation.
We have also
recently opened a video tape library where patients may receive further
information on topics ranging from endometriosis to pap smears to major
and minor surgeries of various types.
